NATO ship group visits Croatian Navy

Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 2  will visit the Lora Naval Base in Split from 30 April to 4 May 2012.

The command ship is TCG “S. Mehmet Pasha” (The Navy of the Republic of Turkey) and 5 sweepers TCG “Akçakoca” (The Navy of the Republic Turkey), HMS “Ledbury” (Royal Navy of the United Kingdom – UK), ESPS “Turia” (Navy of the Kingdom of Spain), ITS “ALGHERO” (The Navy of the Italian Republic) and FGS “Sulzbach-ROSENBEGR” (Navy Federal Republic Germany).

During the visit, NATO ships group will carry out training activities and procedures related to the mines and mine warfare and procedures during nuclear – biological – chemical warfare and other NATO procedures. Through the joint practical training at sea, where Croatian Navy ships will also participate, the joint navigation and manoeuvring, and maritime communications in accordance with NATO standards and procedures will be trained.
