Regional Acquisition Conference

Regional Acquisition Conference, Organized by the Ministry of Defence and NATO Allied Command Transformation, has been held from 2nd to 4th of March 2010 in the Croatian Military Academy.

Besides representatives of the Ministry of Defence and Allied Command Transformation, representatives of participating ministries of defence and armed forces from the region (NATO members and partners) and representatives of NATO agencies and bodies involved in the procurement process also participate in the conference.
Through expert presentations, workshops and discussions, participants will focus on procurement issues within the broader areas related to defence issues. The discussion will be on the national defence and long-term planning, on the various aspects of procurement and implementation of the new defence resources, cooperation in national and international levels, and on interoperability as a prerequisite for an acceptable procurement process for NATO countries and their partners.
At the opening of the conference, the present were addressed by the MOD state secretaries Mate Raboteg and Pjer Simunovic, by the representative of the Allied Command Transformation, Norwegian Major General Kjell-Ove Skareu and by the Assistant Secretary General of NATO for the investment Peter Floryju.
