At the Mont-de-Marsan Air Base, a historic official handover ceremony of the first Rafale multirole combat aircraft to Croatia will take place today, thus marking the exchange of ownership between the French Republic and the Republic of Croatia.
Specifically, on the eve of the Rafale aircraft handover to Croatia, members of the French Air Force and the Croatian Armed Forces completed the last-minute preparations for the takeover in France.
The ceremony will be attended today by Defence Minister Mario Banožić, together with the Head of the Prime Minister’s Office Zvonimir Frka-Petešić, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Croatian Veterans’ Affairs Tomo Medved, as well as a delegation of the Croatian Armed Forces headed by Chief of General Staff Admiral Robert Hranj.
It is the first of 12 Rafale aircraft, a twin-engine multirole fighter aircraft of the 4.5+ generation by the French manufacturer Dassault Aviation.
