Five firefighter aircraft dispatched to extinguish fire at Vrpolje
The air forces of the firefighter taks force of the Croatian Armed Forces continue fighting the fires in a number of locations; the majority of the forces (three Canadairs Cl 415 and two AT-802 Air Tractors) have been dispatched to Šibenik-Knin County.
Other active fire sites are found in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County (at Trnovica and at Jakljan) while the fire that broke out at Poljica (in Zadar County has been extinghuished by Canadairs CL-415.
Over the past 44 days of the season the firefighter forces have logged 930 hours flying and dropped over 30,700 t of water, intervening at 95 firesites in almost all coastal counties (23 sites in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, 22 in Šibenik-Knin County, 19 in Split-Dalmatia County and 11 in Istria County respectively).
The helicopter crews have transported 260 land firefighters to the fire sites.
