President delivers lecture in the War School
The President of the Republic as Supreme Commander of the Croatian Armed Forces, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović on 23 March 2016 delivered a lecture for the students of the 18th generation of the “Ban Josip Jelacic” War School at the Croatian Defence Academy “Dr. Franjo Tuđman“.
The lecture was titled “Security Threats to the European Union”.The lecture was attended by the Defence and National Security Advisor to the President, Ms Maja Čavlović, the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mirko Šundov, the Commander of the Croatian Defence Academy, Lieutenant General Slavko Barić, the students and the staff of the War College.
The “Ban Josip Jelačić” War School was established in 1998, pursuant to the Decision by the President of the Republic as the Supreme Commander of the Croatian Armed Forces as the highest military school offering the education for the senior officers and civl servants of the Republic of Croatia and other countries.
The lecturers at the War School include the most renowned Croatian professors, researchers, senior military and civilian officials and other relevant experts from Croatia and abroad alike. Traditionally, the Presidents of the Republic, the Speakers of the Parliament, the Prime Ministers, ministers and other public figures have been traditionally invited as visiting lecturers as well.
The 18th generation of the War School includes 15 members – 11 members of the Croatian Armed Forces, one official of the Ministry of Foreign and Europea Affairs, one member of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one member of the Army of Macedonia and one member of the Serbian Armed Forces.
