CAF members participate in the Exercise “Adriatic Strike 2016” 1
Fi ve members of the Croatian Armed Forces with two Pilatus PC-9M aircraft of the Fixed-wing Squadron of the 93rd Croatian Air Force and Air Defence took part in the international military exercise “Adriatic Strike 2016“ taking place in several locations in the Republic of Slovenia from 6 – 11 June 2016.
The Exercise was aimed at upgraded training of integration and interoperability of JTACs, shooting platform teams, company commanders and Forward Air Controllers (FACs), while the Croatian Armed Forces members practiced the tactics, techniques and procedures and trained the land FAC teams.
The participating countries were NATO nations (Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, Canada, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and ther United States) the Partnership for Peac e members (Austria and Montenegro) and the members of the Armed Forces of Macedonia in the observer status.
Two Croatian forward air controllers – the certified monitors – supervised the operation of the forward air controllers of other participating countries, while the remaining three practiced the air support tactics and procedures in the determined flying zones, in accordance with the exercise scenario and dynamics.
