Minister Banožić with representatives from the U.S.A. about a possibility of equipping with Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles

Defence Minister Mario Banožić participated today at online meeting with representatives from the U.S.A. led by Laura Cooper, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Office of the Prime Minister, General Staff of the Republic of Croatia, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and by Commanders of the services of the Croatian Armed Forces.

The commitment of the Government for reinforcing all three services of the Croatian Armed Forces was emphasized once again at the meeting, for the sake of providing a successful response to modern defence and security challenges.

They also talked with American representatives about technical questions related to offer of the U.S. Government for possible equipping with Infantry Fighting Vehicles Bradley M2A2 ODS.

“The Government will continue to provide support to modernization and development of the capabilities of the Croatian Army. It is important that all services of the Croatian Armed Forces adapt their capabilities to existing security challenges. The Government will provide support to any such effort. In this context, it is important to continue to develop excellent bilateral relations with our allies and partners”, Defence Minister Banožić said.

The Government wishes a long-term good and sustainable investment for Croatian army and at the same time it is important to estimate the amount of further investments in modernization. That would ensure a long-term sustainability of these vehicles in the next 20 to 30 years.
