Minister Anušić pays a working visit to the Aeronautical Technical Centre
The Aeronautical Technical Centre can certainly have a quality future, and work to ensure that the Croatian Air Force carries out all its tasks smoothly for the benefit of all Croatian citizens, says Minister Ivan Anušić
On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ivan Anušić with his associates paid a working visit to the Aeronautical Technical Centre, and had a meeting with the company representatives.
The working meeting was also attended by Chief of the CAF General Staff Admiral Robert Hranj and his associates, Director of the Aeronautical Technical Centre Ivica Vidović with his colleagues, and Chairman of the Independent Union of Aviation Employees Marijan Luketić.
The meeting participants discussed the current topics related to the Aeronautical Technical Centre, and both parties agreed that there were certain challenges in the context of the company’s functioning. Director Vidović presented the company’s most important tasks, pointing out that he believes in the good prospects of its development, mentioning, among other things, the development of the capabilities to maintain Western-made aircraft and helicopters.
Minister Anušić talked about the importance of the Aeronautical Technical Centre for the Croatian Armed Forces and their defence capability, especially in times of changed security paradigms, as well as their readiness to fight against natural disasters.
“I expect that in the coming period the management of the Aeronautical Technical Centre will primarily do everything in its power to improve the substantive rights of the company employees. We are aware that the Aeronautical Technical Centre is a company of exceptional importance for our Croatian Armed Forces, that is why I decided to have one of my first meetings with the company’s management and union. In this context, the Ministry of Defence has already taken preliminary work that will enable an increase in financial resources for the company’s work by increasing the hourly labour cost,” said Minister Anušić.
“In the end, the Aeronautical Technical Centre can certainly have a quality future, and work to ensure that the Croatian Air Force carries out all its tasks smoothly for the benefit of all Croatian citizens. This is precisely why, in agreement with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, we decided to initiate the process of including the Aeronautical Technical Centre on the List of Legal Entities of Special Interest to the Republic of Croatia,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ivan Anušić.
Admiral Robert Hranj agreed with Minister Anušić about the company’s role and importance for the functioning of the Croatian Armed Forces, emphasising the necessity to continue high-quality cooperation between the CAF and the Aeronautical Technical Centre.
At the end of the meeting, the participants concluded that there is a mutual desire to solve the existing challenges as soon as possible, primarily for the benefit of the company employees. In this context, the meeting participants agreed on further joint activities.
