Senate of the University of Defence and Security held its first constitutive session
Professor Ivica Lučić, Ph.D. was elected Rector of the University, while Associate Professor Luka Mihanović, Ph.D. and Professor Željko Dobrović, Ph.D. were elected Vice-Rectors
On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, the University Senate held its first constitutive session at the Dr. Franjo Tuđman University of Defence and Security.
During the Senate session, Professor Ivica Lučić, Ph.D., former temporary rector of the University of Defence and Security, was elected Rector of the University.
Upon the Rector’s proposal, the Senate of the University confirmed the election of Associate Professor Luka Mihanović, Ph.D. Luka Mihanović as Vice-Rector for Study Programmes, Students and Quality Management, and Professor Željko Dobrović, Ph.D. as Vice-Rector for Scientific Work.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Branko Hrg and Croatian Defence Academy Commandant Major General Slaven Zdilar also attended the session of the University Senate.
As a public institution, the University is registered with the Zagreb Commercial Court, and it entered the Register of Higher Education Institutions by the decision of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of September 27, 2023.
The integrated undergraduate and graduate university study programme of Naval Studies from the University of Split has been transferred to the University of Defence, and the transfer of the graduate university study programmes of Military Leadership and Management, and Military Engineering from the University of Zagreb to the University of Defence and Security is expected to take place soon. The transfer of the study programmes from the University of Zagreb and the University of Split will be carried out in accordance with the Act on Establishment of the University of Defence and Security and the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity.
