The Government adopted a Conclusion regarding the U.S. – Croatia Framework for Defence Cooperation

The Framework includes the continuation and enhancement of defence cooperation through activities to strengthen deterrence, defence institutions and resilience, as well as cooperation in cybersecurity, training and exercises

At the 269th session held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, the Croatian Government adopted a Conclusion regarding the Framework for Defence Cooperation between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia and the Department of Defence of the United States of America 2023-2028.

It is the Framework Agreement on Bilateral Cooperation signed in Washington on October 19, 2023, which defined the continuation and improvement of defence cooperation in the coming period with the aim of strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and implementing NATO capability goals. The agreement is one of the key outcomes of the Strategic Dialogue between the Republic of Croatia and the United States of America, which was held for the first time last year in the U.S.

“The Framework for Defence Cooperation between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Defence of the United States of America includes cooperation focused on common priorities, primarily dealing with geopolitical threats and challenges through activities that strengthen deterrence, cooperation with regard to cybersecurity, strengthening defence institutions and resilience,” State Secretary Zdravko Jakop said.

He also said that the cooperation includes deepening the existing cooperation through training, exercises and exchanges in order to improve readiness and interoperability in support of NATO collective defence.
