The Open Day of the Dr. Franjo Tuđman CDA was held in Zagreb and Split
Military study programmes were presented to visitors at the Open Day of the Dr. Franjo Tuđman Croatian Defence Academy in Zagreb and Split.
On Saturday, 20 January 2024 the Open Day was held at the Dr. Franjo Tuđman Croatian Defence Academy in Zagreb and Split.
About two hundred visitors had the opportunity to learn about the university’s undergraduate and graduate military study programmes of Military Engineering, and Military Leadership and Management, the profession of a military pilot and military air traffic controller, and the integrated undergraduate and graduate university Naval Studies programme.
Employees of the Croatian Defence Academy and cadets of the Armed Forces informed the interested visitors about the requirements of enrolment, cadets’ obligations, military training and boot camps, employment opportunities and career development in the Croatian Armed Forces.
The visitors had the opportunity to visit the barracks and the cadet accommodation facilities, the library, the chapel, the gym, the sports hall and the cadet club.
They showed special interest in viewing the display of tactical and technical weapons and military equipment, the armoury cabinet, naval engineering cabinets, mine countermeasures and artillery missile cabinet, as well as the Croatian Navy vessels, the Omiš coastal patrol vessel and the Dubrovnik missile boat.
On this occasion, cadet SFC Emma Pekić, a fifth-year student of Military Leadership and Management study programme, shared her impressions regarding cadet vocation, pointing out:
“I wanted to serve my Homeland, gain new experiences, and the Croatian Defence Academy allowed me to push my own limits.
These five years have been marked by a lot of ups and downs, but they have also brought immense honour and pride.”
“There is not a single job I would do instead of this one“ the cadet said.
Antonio Butorac from Crikvenica, accompanied by his daughter, said that neither bad weather nor the fact that she is celebrating her eighteenth birthday tonight could not stop them from being at the Open Day today. “I am proud that she wants to enrol in military study programme and I hope that by the time she enrolls, she will fall completely in love with it,” he said.
