Meeting held between Chief of the CAF General Staff General Kundid and Chief of the Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army General Zaman
The meeting discussions focused on bilateral defence cooperation between the two countries
On 10 April 2025, Chief of the CAF General Staff Lieutenant General Tihomir Kundid held a bilateral meeting with Chief of the Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army General Waker-uz-Zaman. General Zaman paid on an official visit to the Republic of Croatia in connection with his participation in the 8th Adriatic Sea Defence & Aerospace Exhibition (ASDA 2025), taking place from 10 to 11 April 2025. As the highest-ranking military officer of the Armed Forces of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, General Zaman serves as their senior military representative.
During the meeting, the two senior officers discussed opportunities to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation, including the potential exchange of personnel between military education institutions, the conduct of specialized courses to support participation in United Nations peace support operations, and the development of joint training programmes for members of the Croatian and Bangladeshi Armed Forces.
General Zaman provided a comprehensive briefing on the force structure, mission, and core tasks of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. In this context, he commended the Croatian Armed Forces for their advanced capabilities and state-of-the-art equipment, acknowledging them as a highly professional and mission-ready military force. The meeting between the two Chiefs of Defence marked a significant step forward in strengthening bilateral defence cooperation.
As part of the ongoing official visit to Croatia, the delegation of the Armed Forces of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is scheduled to hold meetings with representatives of several Croatian defence industry companies.
Apart from the Chief of the CAF General Staff, the meeting was also attended by Brigadier General Mijo Validžić, Head of the CAF GS Intelligence Directorate; Brigadier General Jozo Matković, Head of the CAF GS Logistics Directorate; Colonel Branimir Tojčić, Head of the CAF GS Planning Directorate; Major Goran Mihalinac, Executive Officer, and Major Tomislav Vučak, representative of the Planning Directorate.
