Minister Anušić Meets Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky
Ukrainian courage and resistance against Russia have helped keep the war away from the borders of the European Union, says Minister Anušić from Kyiv
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Republic of Croatia, Ivan Anušić, met today, 27 October 2025, in Kyiv with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Minister Anušić and President Zelensky discussed the importance of implementing defence projects within various initiatives, particularly those related to air defence systems.
On this occasion, Minister Anušić stated: “The wartime president is leading Ukraine through the most difficult period in its recent history. Through the courage and resilience of Ukraine’s resistance to Russia, the Ukrainian people have succeeded in preventing the war from reaching the borders of the European Union. Croatia understands the importance of assistance during a time of aggression because we have experienced the tragedy of war ourselves. Europe and Croatia must continue supporting Ukraine, especially its efforts to achieve peace and secure its territorial integrity.”
President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Croatia for its past and future military assistance.
President Zelensky also expressed his gratitude to Minister Anušić for participating in the International Veterans Conference held in October in Split, emphasising that veterans’s policy and social reintegration policy are crucial issues for Ukraine. He noted that Ukraine is therefore interested in Croatia’s experience in this area.
