Contracts for ACV procurement project signed
Two contracts regarding project of procurement of armoured combat vehicles (ACV) for the Croatian Armed Forces was signed in the premises of the “Djuro Djakovic-Special Vehicles Inc.” in Slavonski Brod on Friday, July 16. The signing was attended by the Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, ministers Branko Vukelic, Ivan Suker and Bozidar Kalmeta, President of Management Board of “Djuro Djakovic Holding d.d.” Zdravko Stipetic, President of Management Board of “Djuro Djakovic-Special Vehicles Inc.” Bartol Jerkovic, and representatives of foreign companies participating in the project Kaj Sjogren (Patria) and Eirik Malterud (Kongsberg).
Contracts signed were on fitting base vehicles with weapons systems, signed by the Minister of Defence Branko Vukelic and Bartol Jerkovic on behalf of “Duro-Djakovic Special Vehicles Inc.” and about procurement of remote control armed stations signed between “Djuro Djakovic – Special Vehicles Inc.” and the Norwegian company “Kongsberg”.
In addition to the previously given guarantees of the Croatian Government, and the signing of annex no. 3 on the contract between the Ministry of Defence and Patria and Djuro Djakovic Consortium, this contracts enabled continuation of serial production of ACV for the Croatian Armed Forces. With the beginning of next year, the CAF should get four new vehicles per month, and the total of 126 vehicles will be delivered.
Prime Minister Kosor expressed satisfaction with the signing of the contracts, stressing that by their signing we would achieve several important goals. “In addition to equipping the Croatian Armed Forces with modern vehicles, the project enables employment and opens perspective for new markets”, Prime Minister Kosor said. Defence Minister Branko Vukelic emphasized that the signing completed everything needed for successful implementation of ACV procurement project. “The Croatian Armed Forces will soon receive complete vehicles with integrated weapons stations”, the Minister concluded.
