Navy participated at the Regional Symposium of Naval Forces in Venice

Croatian Navy delegation led by Deputy Commander Tihomir Erceg participated during the last week at the 8th Regional Naval Forces Symposium for the Mediterranean and Black Sea Navies.

This year’s symposium was attended by commanders and representatives of 43 countries, where they highlighted that they would jointly provide support in strengthening maritime security and continue with operations to maintain maritime security.
A document on joining Trans-Regional Maritime Network – T-RMN for monitoring and protecting maritime traffic was signed as well. T-RMN is an extension of an existing project V-RMTC (Virtual Regional Center for the surveillance of maritime traffic), which binds countries of the Mediterranean and Black Sea in a joint action of monitoring maritime traffic. The V-RMTC started in 2004, and the Republic of Croatia is among the founders of the project.
