Visit to Italian Navy

Commander of Croatian Navy, Rear Admiral Ante Urlic and his associates paid a working visit to the Navy of the Republic of Italy on 16 and 17 November 2010.

On this occasion, Rear Admiral Urlic and Admiral of the Italian Navy Bruno Branciforte talked about the ongoing cooperation betveen the Italian and Croatian Navy. Admiral Urlic particularly thanked for hosting of Lieutenant Commander Jaksa Miskovic on the Italian frigate “Libeccio”, which has been currently deployed in the Gulf of Aden as part of the European naval forces in the “Atalanta” operation. Navy commanders have also talked about the possibility of performing joint exercise of Italian submarine and Croatian Navy ships with anti-submarine capabilities. Since the Croatian Navy has no submarine in its composition, joint exercise with the navy, which have submarines represents the highest level of training. Admiral Branciforte and his colleagues also presented Admiral Urlic with current situation and future plans of the Italian Navy.
