Chief of General Staff visits USCENTCOM
As part of the visit to the United States, Croatian Armed Forces’ delegation led by General Josip Lucic visited on 12 January 2011 the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) in Tampa, Florida. This is one of six regional combat headquarters in whose area of responsibility are operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Croatian delegation was received by the USCENTCOM Chief of Staff Major General Michael D. Jones. This was followed by staff talks with key officers of the Command, with an emphasis on the situation in the ISAF operation in Afghanistan. On this occasion, the Croatian delegation was expressed with satisfaction on significant contribution of the Republic of Croatia to this operation.
After visiting the USCENTCOM, the Croatian delegation visited a Army Training Center for helicopter pilots at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Accompanied by Centre Commander Brigadier General Anthony G. Crutchfield delegation was presented with several flight simulators, and with the program of pilot training. Deputy Commander of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence, Brigadier General Drazen Scuri then gave a presentation on training programs and education of Croatian pilots.
