CAF Fire-fighting Task Force participated in “Dobrinj 2012” exercise

Fire-fighting plane Air Tractor AT-802 Fire Boss and Mi-8 helicopter MTV1 of the Croatian Air Force was engaged in the composition of CAF Fire-fighting Task Force (CAF FF TF) that participated today, 25 May 2012, in “Dobrinj 2012” fire-fighting exercises in the Sulinj area, Dobrinj municipality on the island of Krk.

In addition to fire-fighting aircraft, in the exercise were also engaged the local municipal fire-fighting department and forestry company, volunteer fire brigades Kraljevica, New Vinodolski and Bribir, VZ Bakar-Kostrena and fire-fighting intervention unit of Primorsko-goranska County.

Air Tractor AT-802 Fire Boss was monitoring the area affected by fire, reported about the direction of the spread of fire, and in coordination with ground fire-fighting, forces participated in fire extinguishing. The Mi-8 MTV1 helicopter delivered county fire brigade to the scene, performed its landing, pulled out injured fire-fighters in a stretcher from the area affected by fire and evacuated one fire-fighter from the fire using a four-wire cable.

“Dobrinj 2012” exercise was organized in order to check the coordination between the air and ground forces, according to the Program of activities of the Croatian Government in the implementation of special fire-fighting protection measures that are of interest of the Republic of Croatia in 2012.
