Minister of Defence and Croatian President congratulated New Year to HRVCON servicemen
The President of the Republic of Croatia and Commander-in-Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces, Ivo Josipović, congratulated today, January 1, 2013, the happy New Year to all CAF servicemen that have been deployed in operation ISAF in Aghanistan, UNDOF on the Golan Heights and KFOR in Kosovo.
Minister of Defence Ante Kotromanović and Chief of General Staff General Drago Lovrić also joined the congratulations.
President Josipović said that they together whished CAF servicemen that have been deployed in international operations, of whom some have been working in dangerous environment, safe return, and promised they would do everything for our soldiers to be more safe. This primarily relates to the data exchange, equipping and training of CAF servicemen to perform their tasks in operations as successfully and safely as possible.
Minister Kotromanović said that all what was planned last year was achieved. He expected in this year, for which he expected to be demanding and challenging, to realize some of the modernization and equipping plans such as coastal patrol ship, overhauling of helicopters and airplanes, procurement of new rifles… He also emphasized he would continue to work on reorganization and decreasing the administration. “There is enough to do. We have made the yearly plan and we know what to do”, Kotromanović said.
President Josipović also expected for the CAF procurement plan to be achieved, but also to continue, as the President emphasized, with the most important, which is quality training of our soldiers, NCOs and officers.
