21st anniversary of death of the Croatian Navy launch crew

21st anniversary of the death of the Croatian Navy launch crew  was commemorated in Split, on Monday, 28 January 2013.

The tribute to deceased members of the launch crew was paid by the families of deceased, members of the Navy and representatives of the Navy Association in the Memorial Room of the Navy Command, after which they were received by the Navy Commander Rear Admiral Robert Hranj.

On this occasion, they recalled the days when the Navy diving launch crew was working on demining of the approach to recently liberated Lora Naval Base, when it hit a naval mine.  Darko Jurišin and Nikola Perlet lost their lives. Before the accident scuba divers were disembarked from the launch thus avoiding a greater tragedy. This is the only Croatian Navy boat that sunk during the Homeland War.

After being received by the Navy Commander, the families of the deceased, accompanied by members of the Navy and representatives of the Navy Association, sailed to the Škojić Island in front of the Lora port, where they paid tribute to fallen Navy members by laying a wreath.
