Defence Minister attends the Munich Security Conference
The Munich Security Conference is an international non-governmental and independent counselling platform on security-relevant issues. The 2013 Conference’s host was the Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger. More than 70 delegations attended the Conference, among whom also U. S. Vice-President Joe Biden, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy , Baroness Catherine Ashton and the NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
The Conference addressed a number of security-related topics, covering the Euro-Zone crisis and the future of the European Union, the geopolitics of energy and the European defence and security issues.
The Croatian attendants at the Conference included the senior state officials, at the levels of the President of the Republic, the foreign minister and the defence minister respectively. Along with the Minister Kotromanović, the President of the Republic, Mr. Ivo Josipović, attended the Conference as the moderator of the „Security and Stability in Southest of Europe and the Caucasus“ Panel.
