Croatian Army assists with floods around Letovanić
Upon the request by the National Search and Rescue Directorate of the Republic of Croatia the Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović today, 13 February 2014 signed the Decision on sending the Task Force of the Croatian Armed Forces to provide emergency assistance to the flood-hit area in the village of Letovanić in the Sisak –Moslavina County.
The extreme water levels, expected to keep rising still, and a high number of endangered homes in the area prompted the local authorities to plead for intervention of 100 soldiers to help fight the severe effects of overflowing rivers.
