23rd HRVCON ISAF Send-off

The Contingent is composed of 151 members of the Croatian Armed Forces (nine women and two officers of the police forces) and 22 members of the Army of Montenegro. 
“This is one of the last contingents to be deployed to Afghanistan, where the Operation ISAF is ending this year.  The Operation ‘Resolute Support’will continue, where Croatia expects to continue to participate, only with a modified mission”, stated the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces and the Envoy of the President of the Republic, General Drago Lovrić.

General Lovrić wished success to the members of the Contingent and stated that they were expected to continue fulfilling their tasks responsibly and professionally and to provide assistance to the people of Afghanistan.

The Commander of the 23rd HRVCON Colonel Mijo Validžić emphasised that the members of the Contingent were joining the operation where their predecessors had been recognised for their professionalism and successful exercise of duties in a multi-national environment, and added that the same was expected from the 23 Contingent.
