Croatian pilots attend conference in Hungary
The Planning Conference for the 7th Air Advisory Teams Pre-deployment Cours of Croatian, Czech and Hungarian teams was held in Budapest from 26 to 29 March 2014. The Croatian team was represented by the Course Administrator, Captain Dalibor Ivelja and the activity co-ordinator of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Command, Major Boris Panić.
The attendees included representatives of the Czech and Hungarian Ministries of Defence and the Armed Forces respectively and representatives of the “Helicopter Training Point” from Ostrava, the location of the training with Mi-171 Sh simulator.
The 7th Air Advisory Team will begin their preparation for mentoring the members of the Afghanistan Air Force in Ostrava in May 2014, followed by the flight segment at the Zemunik Air Base, Croatia a month later.
The Conference has been organised to discuss the Course training plans, modifications with respect to the current needs of the Advisory Teams in Afghanistan, as well as the plans and preparatory tasks for the subsequent (eighth)Course, scheduled for September 2014.
The Course was co-designed by the Croatian and the Czech teams, assisted by the U.S. European Special Operations Command (SOCEUR), and has been accepted and filed as part of the “Smart Defence” concept.
