Deputy Defence Ministry attending the ambassadors’ meeting at RACVIAC
Deputy Defence Ministry, Višnja Tafra attended the annual ambassadors’ meeting at the Centre for Security Co-operation (RACVIAC) in Rakitje on 11 April 2014.
The keynote address was delivered by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Vesna Pusić, who praised the RACVIAC as a highly useful platform for the exchange of views and development of stability and security in the region.
Among the participants were the ambassadors and defence attaches of 29 member countries or countries supporting the Centre.
The Director of the Centre for Security Co-operation, Ambassador Branimir Mandić in his address emphasised the fact that the Centre, to mark its fifteenth year in 2015, is in a stable situation and developing new perspectives. The many initiatives led by the Centre have enjoyed the support by the European Union and NATO, as well as other international organisations.
Deputy Defence Minister Višnja Tafra highlighted the pride over the functioning of the Centre as a model of a successful international organisation. „Back in 1999, when we embarked on the project through a bilateral agreement with Germany, we could not predict its successful outcome fourteen years later. I have to reiterate the full support to the Centre pledged by Ministry of Defence, which is facilitated by the Technical Agreement signed earlier this year“, concluded Deputy Minister Tafra.
