The Support Command marks 12th anniversary
The Support Cmmand of the Croatian Armed Forces marked its 12th anniversary at a ceremony in the “Croatia” Barracks in Zagreb on 5th May 2014.
The ceremony was attended by the envoy of the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, Vice Admiral Ante Urlić, the Military Ordinary, Msgr. Juraj Jezerinac, the commanders of the services of the Croatian Armed Forces and heads of the directorates and sectors of the General Staff and the Ministry of Defence, former commanders of the Support Commander and other invitees.
In his congratulatory address, Vice Admiral Urlić (Deputy Chief of the General Staff) extended appreciation to the Support Command members and staff for their essential role in the functioning of the Croatian Armed Forces at home and in international operations.
“The logistic system has over the years adjusted and developed to meet modern-age challenges and NATO standards, taking care to stay receptive to new knowledge, needs and tasks, and to assist the civilian structures with natural disaster relief efforts. The Support Command will thus continue to underpin the Croatian Armed Forces’ achievements”.
The Support Command commander, Major General Mate Ostović, reviewed the past year, characterised by over 270 support actions conducted to accomodate the needs of the Croatian Armed Forces units and Commands, and over 300 engagements in support of the State and civilian institutions and organisations.
“In the future the Support Command will pursue its mission employing its potentials towards fulfullment of the issued plans, guidelines and commands, with the priority placed on purposeful and proper use of the allocated budget resources and assigned material assets, and professional conduct of the members of the Support Command”, said Major General Ostović.
The ceremony featured presentation of commendations and prizes to the meriting members of the Support Command, and the performance by the Croatian Navy Dalmatian Vocal Ensemble “Sveti Juraj”.
