Military Helicopters recover three patients on 6 and 7 May 2014
The crews of the Multi-purpose Helicopter Squadron of the 91st and of the Transport Helicopter Squadron of the 93rd Bases of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence on 6 and 7 May performed emergency transportation of three patients from remote areas.
At the request from the Dubrovnik County unit of the National Search and Rescue Directorate, the trained crews of the Transport Helicopter Squadron of the 93rd Base with a Mi-8 MTV and the Multi-purpose Helicopter Squadron with a Mi-171Sh conducted a well-co-ordinated emergency helicopter intervention taking an infant in an incubator from Dubrovnik to the Clinical Hospital «Dubrava» in Zagreb on 6 May 2014 afternoon.
A similar operation was undertaken in the early hours of 7 May 2014 to recover a patient from the island of Lošinj to the Rijeka University Hospital Centre, at the request from the Rijeka County unit, by the crew of the 91st Base.
By 7th May the crews of the Multi-purpose Helicopter Squadron have recovered 13 patients accompanied by medical staff (23 persons) in 11 emergency interventions, spending a total of nearly 33 hours aboard the helicopters.
