Coast Guard hosts seminar on marine pollution response strategy

The “Sv. Nikola” Barracks of the Croatian Navy from 16-18 June hosted a seminar and staff exercise on the authorities and respective services’ responsibilities and operation in the event of environment disasters and marine pollution.

The fourth seminar on the subject matter was organised jointly with the EUCOM and the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb, whose staff delivered the lectures, along with the staff of the Croatian Coast Guard. The participants were welcomed by the Deputy Commander of the Coast Guard, Navy Captain Milan Blažević
 
The seminar featured presentations and workshops on sea and environment pollution, as well as the presentation of the National, the Split-Dalmatia and the Coast Guard Intervention plans respectively.  The participants concluded that the prevention of incidents was essential for the environment protection and in the event of maritime incidents.
