Fourth “101,8 ft” Radio Show aired from Zemunik

The fourth radio show of the series  “101,8 FT” (101,8 FITA) was broadcast live from the 93rd Air Base in the Zemunik Barracks on 9 July.

The studio was staged in front of the Air Tractor AT -802 A Fireboss, signalling the role of the aircraft in firefighting as the show’s main topic.
The guest of the show was Captain Milan Došen, Commander of the AirTractor platoon of the Firefighting Squadron, who said that the Squadron was composed of five aircraft (three float Air Tractors, – the Air Tractor AT-802 A Fireboss, which scoop water from the sea or lakes, and two wheeled Tractors – the Air Tractor AT-802 F (two-seat) and a Airtractor AT-802 A (one-seat), scooping the water from fire hydrants or firefighter vehicles.

The Airtractor has played the main part in the new Disney animated film “Planes 2 – Fire and Rescue”, starring three pilots from Zemunik (Cpt Danijel Kos and Cpt Igor Trošelj and 1st Lt. Ivan Papak), who told of their experiences from the film shooting and said they were looking forward to seeing the film in the Firefighting Squadron’s home setting at Zemunik. 

Another guest on the show  – a Croatian representative of the „2i Film“ distribution company, Ana Cvitaš, announced the upcoming open-air film show for the young public in the Zemunik Barracks; the film was produced in co-operation with the 93rd Base and with support from the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia. 

“We are particularly glad to have had the pilots lend their voices in the film; the film’s release will be a unique film event in Croatia this year”, said Ms Cvitaš.
