Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff visits Croatia

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States Army, General Martin E. Dempsey arrived to the Zagreb Airport on Sunday, 21 September 2014.

where he was welcomed by the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Drago Lovrić, the United States Ambassador to Croatia, Kenneth Merten, the Croatian Military Representative to NATO and the E.U., Lieutenant General Mirko Šundov and the Croatian Military Attache to the United States, Brigadier General Vlado Šindler. The welcome ceremony included a Honorary Battalion members lineup and the musical honours by the Croatian Armed Forces Orchestra.
General Dempsey is on an official visit to Croatia from 21 – 23 September 2014 , and will hold meetings with the Croatian Prime Minister, Zoran Milanović, and the Defence Minister, Ante Kotromanović, as well as with the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Drago Lovrić and other senior military officials. On Monday 22 September General Dempsey is to attend the handover of the donated M-ATV and MRAP vehicles.
General Dempsey will be conferred the Order of Duke Trpimir with Neck Badge and Morning Star by the Croatian Defence Minister  for his exceptional contribution to the independence, development,  integrity and the international reputation of the Republic of Croatia and the contribution to the development of relations with other countries.
