MEDEVAC Team Training
The second part of the MEDEVAC team training, entailing hands-on training, was conducted in the 91st Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Base at the “Lučko” Barracks
on 17 October 2014. It was taken by the members of the Multi-purpose Helicopter Squadron, the members of the Military Medical Centre and other medical units of the Croatian Armed Forces.
The training comprised familiarisation with the capabilities of the Mi 171 Sh helicopter and with on-board safety measures for MEDEVAC teams.
The Mi-171Sh crew administered an on-board training using a MEDEVAC kit in support to the training of the MEDEVAC teams.
MEDEVAC procedures require superb co-ordination and trainedness of the flight and medical personnel alike, in shortest time possible to ensure timely transportation of patients to a higher treatment facility, while continuing their treatment.
