Mi-8MTV assists Mountain Rescue Service teams training

Croatian Mountain Rescue Service’s rescue teams on Saturday, 25 October, took training supported by a Mi-8MTV helicopter and crew of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence’s Transport Helicopter Squadron.

The training was conducted in the Knez Trpimir“ Barracks in Split and in the nearby island of Čiovo.
The teams practiced the helicopter-based fixed rope technique, applied in evacuation of victims from inaccessible or unlandable terrains.
The Mi-8 MTV Captain, Cpt. Dalibor Ivelja praised the years-long successful co-operation between the Transport Helicopter Squadron and the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service, and said that each training event was beneficial in terms of reaching the required standards, particularly by new members, and thereby contributed to greater  efficiency of rescue operations.
