“Croatian Armed Forces in NATO Operations“ wins international award
The documentary titled “Croatian Armed Forces in NATO Operations“, produced by the Multi-media Department of the Public Affairs and Publishing Service of the Croatian Ministry of Defence won the special award in the category “Current events“
at the 24th International Military Documentary Festival „Armies and Peoples“ held in Bracciano, Italy, from 9-16 November 2014, presenting over 50 documentaries from 19 countries. This has been the fifth award won for the films produced by the Department.
The award was presented to the Head of the Multi-media Department, Vesna Pintarić, by a jury member from the United States, Joe Harris, at a ceremony held in the Air Force Historical Museum at Vigna di Valle, attended by senior officers of the Italian Armed Forces and of the members of the Military Diplomatic Corps as well as by representatives of civilian institutuions.
The Croatian documentary was produced in May 2014 during the visit of the journalist and photographer team of the “Hrvatski vojnik” magazine to the members of the Croatian Contingents deployed to NATO-led operations in Afghanistan and Kosovo respectively.
The Festival itself was launched in 1991 by the Italian cultural association “Eserciti e popoli” („Armies and Peoples“) to actively contribute to the promotion of culture and production of documentary films about the military, and has been organised under the high auspices of the President of the Republic.
