Minister Buljević receives incoming visit from UK Ambassador
The Croatian Defence Minister Josip Buljević on 23 August 2016 received the inaugural visit from the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Andrew Dalgleish.
The Minister and the UK Ambassador agreed that joint participation in multinational initiatives oriented on enhanced allied capabilities and interoperability, as well as the planned Memorandum of Understanding between the two ministries to enhance bilateral co-operation were the proof of intensified co-operation and an incentive for futher development of overall bilateral relations.
Minister and Ambassador praised the benefit of joint training and exercises, particularly the exercise of the Croatian Army and the Royal Army, titled “SAVA STAR“, to take place for the fourth consecutive time in Croatia from 23 August – 4 September 2016 (this time in the “Crvena zemlja“ Training Range near Knin.
Minister Buljević and Ambassador Dalgleish exchanged the views on the current political and security situation, calling for a focussed action in the interest of long-term stability of southeast Europe through supported Euro-Atlantic perspective of the aspirant countries.
The two sides expressed mutual interest in further expansion of the defence co-operation, botth bilaterally and within multilateral organisations and initiatives.
