Defence Minister meets with the Ambassador of Germany

The Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and  Defence Minister Damir Krstičević  on 28 November 2016 received in visit the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Croatia, H. E. Thomas E. Schultze.

Minister Krstičević briefed the German Ambassadcr on the main plans of the Croatian Goverment and the Ministry of Defence in the prospective period, which include the reform and the drafting of the National Security Strategy and the concept of homeland security.
The Minister and the Ambassador confirmed the excellent bilateral relations and highly productive years-long co-operation in the domains of derfence and security.
They also underlined the joint contribution to the international security through the engagement in peace support missions and operations and to the regional and global security situation.
The Federal Republic of Germany, said Minister Krstičević, was Croatia0s main European strategiic ally, both bilaterally and within NATO and the EU initiatives and praised the equipping and modernisation process assisted by Germany.

Minister Krstičević and Ambassador  Schultze discussed the security situation in the region, particularly in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They agreed on the continued European and Euro-Atlantic integration as the wisest solution in the interest of the stabilisation and prosperity of the countries in the neighbourhood, with full support from the Republic of Croatia based on its own experience.
The two sides agreed on the interest in the intensified defence cp-operation and reiterated the commitment to joint building of defence capabilities and responding to the current security threats.
