Minister Krstičević meets with Ambassador of Italy

The Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and the Defence Minister Damir Krstičević  and the State Secretary Tomislav Ivić on 2 February 2017 met with the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani.

The Minister and the Ambassador affirmed the good bilateral defence co-operation of the neighbour countries, which has been particulary productive between the two navies. The Minister expressed the hope in meeting with his Italian counterpart, Roberta Pinotti .

Minister Damir Krstičević  said  Italy was Croatia’s crucial partner with respect to the maritime security, and pledged support to the continued  co-operation.

The two officials affirmed the support to the enlargement of the EU and NATO to southeast Europea and the commitment to assist the aspirant countries.

Minister Krstičević and Ambassador Cianfarani also took the opportunity to exchange the views on the current security and political situation in the world, with the emphasis on the security threats inherent in the migrant crisis and the situation in the Middle East and in the Mediterranean.
