Minister Krstičević meets with defence ministers of Poland and Lithuania  

Minister Krstičević holds bilateral meetings in Brussels with Polish Minister of National Defence Mariusz Blaszczak and Lithuanian Defence Minister Raimundas Karoblis 

On the margins of NATO defence ministers meeting held in Brussels the Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević on 12 February 2020 held bilateral meetings with the Defence Minister of Poland Mariusz Blaszczak and the Defence Minister of Lithuania Raimundas Karoblis.

Minister Krstičević reminded of the defence-related priorities  of the Republic of Croatia during its presidency of the Council of the EU and stated the expectations from the EU defence ministers meeting to be held in Zagreb in early March. 

During the bilateral talks the ministers exchanged views on the progress with the implementation of the EU defence initiatives. 

Ahead of NATO defence ministers meeting, Minister Krstičević underlined the commitment of Croatia to the collective defence, proved through the engagement of the members of the Croatian Armed Forces in NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence battlegroups in Poland and Lithuania. 

The productive bilateral defence co-operation with Poland and Lithuania respectively creates perspectives for the co-operation of defence industries.

The Polish Defence Minister accepted the invitation for the Polish Air Force to take part in the first international military air show in Croatia CROIMAS, to be held in Zadar on 30 May 2020, marking the 30th anniversary of Croatian statehood.
