Polish Minister of National Defence visits 25th Pilgrimage to Marija Bistrica
The Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Poland and the Croatian Deputy Prime Ministar and Defence Miister Damir Krstičević on 1 October 2017 joined the celebration of the Way of the Cross during the jubilary 25th Pilgrimage of the Croatian Armed Forces, police forces and Croatian defenders tp Marija Bistrica.
After the Way of the Cross along the Calvary at Marija Bistrica ministers Krstičević and Macierewicz lit the candle and laid a wreath at the monument to Saint Pope John Paul II.
Bidding welcome to Minister Macierewicz and the Polish delegation to Marijs Bistrics, the Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević emphasised: “It is a pleasuer to take part together in the jubilary 25th Pilgrimage of the Croatian Armed Forces, police forces and the Croatian defenders to Marija Bistrica. The Polish and the Croatian people are close and share many values and the long and rich Christian tradition. I m convinced that your visit will further promote the co-operation between Croatia and Poland“.
Minister Macierewicz expressed satisfaction over visiting Croatia on the occasion, which is of great importance for the Croatian Armed Forces, police and defenders, saying“I am glad to be in this beautiful Marian shrine on such an important day. Poland and Croatia are fraternal countries, sharing the Christian values and tradition“.
During his two-day visit to Croatia the Polish delegation held bilteral meetings with the the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Croatian Deputy Prime Ministar and Defence Miister Damir Krstičević to enhance the bilateral defence co-operation in the domains of defence industry and joint engagement in NATO, including the prospective deployment of the Croatian Armed Forces within NATO enhanced Forward Presence in the Republic of Poland.
