One Canadair fire-fighting aircraft sent to Izreal
Canadair CL 415 aircraft from the Fire-fighting Squadron of the 93rd Air Force Base, with two crews consisting of two captains, two co-pilots and four aircraft technician, was sent today, December 4, to Israel to help in fire-fighting.
Crews flew out from Zemunik barracks around 13.30 h, and the beginning of engagement of the aircraft will depend on further development of meteorological conditions on the route of flight to Israel.
The aircraft was engaged on the basis of decisions of the President and Commander-in-Chief, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence to send one Canadair and on the Decision of participation of members of the Croatian Armed Forces in providing humanitarian aid to the State of Israel.
So far, the Croatian pilots participated in international fire-fighting missions in Montenegro (2003.), Macedonia and Greece (2007).
