Final training of the 4th OMLT

A three-day final assessment and certification of members of the 4th Multinational Combined Operational Mentoring Liaison Team (MN OMLT CS), on preparation for the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, began at the  “Gasinci” military training area on Tuesday, 18 January 2011.

4th MN CS OMLT composed of members of the Croatian Armed Forces and members of the U.S. Armed Forces from the composition of the Minnesota National Guard, and the evaluation has been done by the certified evaluators from the Army. Evaluation is done according NATO standards for assessing the readiness of combat forces, by evaluating the personnel and logistics readiness of forces, tactics, techniques and procedures. Evaluation is the last preparation and verification of readiness of forces before deployment in the mission, which is scheduled in late January 2011.

Assessment and certification is part of the second phase of training conducted by the instructor team of the Infantry Regiment of the Army “Fran Krsto Frankopan” Training and Doctrine Command, in cooperation with members of the second MN CS OMLT that with their experience from the mission significantly contributed to the quality of preparation and created a more realistic picture of conditions and the situation in Afghanistan. The first phase of training was conducted partly at the “Gasinci” military training area, and partly in the Republic of Germany where Croatian and U.S. forces of the Minnesota National Guard joined in one team.
