Minister Krstičević meets with new US Ambassador
The Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević on 19 January 2018 met with the new Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Robert Kohorst.
Minister Krstičević briefed Ambassador Kohorst with the ongoing activities of the Ministry of Defence and the Croatian Armed Forces, and the plans for the future related to the conclusions from the past NATO summits.
The U.S. Ambassador was also informed of the participation of the Croatian Armed Forces members in international peace operations, with the emphasis on NATO-led operations and deployment to the Enhanced Forward Presence in Poland and Lithuania, as one of rare NATO nations.
The Minister and the Ambassador discussed the regional and global security and affirmed the excellent understanding in areas of mutual interest.
The Minister underlined the United States were Croatia’s strategic partner and ally in the domains of defence and security and also declared that the Croatian Ministry of Defence stood as a credible partner to the United States .
The Minister expressed appreciation to the United States for the support provided to the development of the Croatian Armed Forces, particularly through the recent donations, which have significantly upgraded the Croatian defence capabilities.
