Simunovic attended A5 initiative meeting
State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Pjer Simunovic, participated today, 27 May 2011, in Budva (Montenegro) at the ministerial meeting of the US-Adriatic Charter. The meeting, besides delegations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Monte Negro, Croatia, Macedonia and the United States, was also attended by delegations from NATO, RACVIAC, Slovenia and Kosovo.
The topics discussed were the Euro-Atlantic integrations – in which they discussed progress, challenges and experiences of members of the Charter on their individual path to NATO. Also, they discussed regional cooperation – with special emphasis on the importance of joint participation in peacekeeping missions and operations. In this context, it was particularly mentioned the joint participation in the ISAF operation in Afghanistan and planned mentoring contribution of A5 member states to the School of Military Police of the Afghan National Army under Croatian leadership.
