Minister Božinović visited Special Operations Battalion
Defence Minister Davor Božinović visited today, 14 listopada 2011, the Special Operations Battalion (BSD) in “Drgomalj” barracks in Delnice.
During the visit, Minister Bozinovic was introduced with the structure, tasks, missions and accepted force goals by the Commander of the Special Operations Battalion Colonel Dražen Ressler, who particularly emphasized the involvement of BSD in international military operations, particularly in ISAF through mentoring and training of Afghan security forces.
Minister Božinović visited the memorial room of fallen members of Special Forces during the Homeland War, arms warehouse, as well as the accommodation barracks.
In his address Minister Božinović stressed the importance of BSD participation in international military operations, and emphasized the need to use the knowledge and the potential gained for the training of instructors in international peacekeeping missions. He also stressed the importance of “Jackal Stone 12” international military exercise since, as the Minister pointed out, through this exercise we prove the CAF capabilities as a whole, the interoperability with other members of the NATO Alliance and cooperation with countries in the region.
