Basics of PSO course
In the Training centre for international military operations in Rakitje, from 12 to 16 December 2011, the Basics of Peace Support Operations Course (PSO) was conducted for the first time, with the participants from the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Regional Development, Forestry and Water Economy and Ministry of Finance – Customs Administration .
The Basics of PSO Course was developed in 2009 in the Training centre for international military operations, and has been conducted in English.
The aim of the course is to provide fundamental knowledge and skills to officers and NCOs and staff from other ministries. Also, the course provides an understanding of the doctrine of peacekeeping operations, tactics, techniques and procedures that apply to them and provides insight into the UN peacekeeping operations and NATO at the tactical level. Upon the successful completion of the course, participants will be familiar with working in an international environment of peace support operations, and will acquire basic knowledge and requirements for work in the IMO.
This course is a requirement for candidates to be able to participate in international military operations, and in accordance with the concept of training for international military operations, four courses per year will be held.
