Minister Kotromanović received U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense

Besides Minister Kotromanović meeting was attended by the Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić, assistant ministers of defence Dragan Lozančić and Viktor Koprivnjak and associates, and with Ms. Wallander in the U.S. delegation were Ambassador to Croatia James Foley, Commodore Mark Montgomery and associates.

During the meeting, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste A. Wallander said that the United States highly respected Croatia’s commitment to NATO goals, especially in Afghanistan and Kosovo, and Croatia’s commitment to build regional stability, particularly through the engagement in the US-Adriatic Charter (A -5).

Minister Kotromanović confirmed the commitment to Alliance, stressing that the contribution to building regional cooperation, stability and security has been a priority of Croatia.

During the talks, the level of cooperation achieved by the two countries in defence field was highly appraised. Openness to further strengthening bilateral cooperation through the activities on the expert-level, technical cooperation, and programs in education was emphasized as well.
