Minister Kotromanović received Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway

Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović received today, Wednesday, 15 February 2012, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Croatia Henrik Ofstad.

Ambassador Ofstad congratulated Minister Ante Kotromanović on the appointment pointing out very good bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries.

Defence Minister Kotromanović thanked the Norwegian Ambassador and expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation of two friendly countries in military-technical field, particularly in conjunction with equipping of Croatian armoured combat vehicles with armed stations. He also thanked the Kingdom of Norway on donations for destroying obsolete munitions and for humanitarian demining.

The two sides have agreed that there were room for new initiatives, such as cooperation between the coast guards of the two countries.

Croatia and Norway share the opinion of the need for additional efforts to integrate the entire region into Euro-Atlantic integrations and provide active support for the acceleration of these processes in the countries of Southeast Europe. Minister Kotromanović said that the regional stability was of Croatia’s interest.

Minister Kotromanović and Ambassador Ofstad also exchanged experiences and views on the involvement of the two countries’ armed forces in peace support operations in Afghanistan and Kosovo.
