Chief of General Staff held meeting at Military Academy
A regular meeting of the Chief of General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, attended by the Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić, CAF service commanders and commander of the organizational unit of General Staff, also attended by Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović, was held at the Croatian Military Academy “Petar Zrinski” on Friday, 13 April 2012.
Discussion at the meeting was, inter alia, on the annual military priorities, report on the status of implementation of Force Goals, the logistics system, individual training program, restructuring of the Croatian Military Academy “Petar Zrinski” to higher education and scientific research institution, scoring system for the promotion and etc. The meeting was opened by Chief of General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić, who delivered a keynote address, while for each agenda item several presentations were given that were developed by the competent General Staff directorates or commands.
Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović in his presentation emphasized the importance of a more rational approach to logistic support, but with the necessity of speeding up and simplifying the process of procurement and maintenance. Regarding the training, he emphasized the importance of intensifying the training of individuals and units, especially in those forms of training that have to do with actual, real-world conditions in which the members of the armed forces and the troops could be expected to find themselves when executing their duties.
