Company live fire exercise
Members of the fire support company of the 1st Motorised Battalion Wolves of the Guards Motorised Brigade (GMTBR) have conducted company live fire exercise from light mortars LMB 120 mm M-75 on Friday, April 13, on the military training facility “Eugen Kvaternik” near Slunj.
This is regular annual activity planned by annual training programme. Shooting was conducted in accordance with accepted Croatian military standards. Multiple targets were shot, and exercise began with a correction to the rapper (known point). Afterwards, shooting on the planned and at unplanned targets was conducted.
The main task of the company is fire support to its battalion, with light mortars LMB 120 mm M-75 as the basic weapons to provide the fire support. Shooting was observed by the forward controllers from the composition of the company that were calling for fire and corrections. On behalf of the Mobile Brigade the shooting was attended by Major Ante Lovrić, fire support officer from the S3 Department of the Mobile Brigade Command and Wolves Battalion Commander Major Milan Sabolić. Shooting commander was Captain Dražen Kostelac, the company commander for fire support. “Shooting went great. Given the comprehensive preparation that preceded to this, good hits were expected. Essential for successful shooting is a good synchronization of all components that participate in it”, Captain Kostelac said.
