NTM-A Commander visited ANA Military Police School
ANA Military Police School, located in Camp Julien, Kabul, Afghanistan, where Croatia is leading nation was visited late last week by Deputy Commander of NATO Training Mission Afghanistan (NTM-A) for International Security Cooperation, Major General Jan Gabrys and his associates.
The distinguished guest was met with the work of this successful example of regional cooperation by Colonel Željko Akrap, Commander of the 4th MP TAT (Military Police Training Advisory Team). Colonel Akrap commented on the role of CAF as a leading nation in the Military Police School, in which work have been involved members of the US-Adriatic Charter (A 5) together with the countries from the region. Besides the CAF, in the support of School participate members of the armed forces of Albania, Montenegro, Slovenia, Macedonia and for the first time Bosnia and Herzegovina.
By their work and efforts members of MP TAT in cooperation with a significant number of experienced non-commissioned officers – military police instructors of the Afghan army (ANA MPS) conducted a training of members of the ANA military police corps. So far through the process of training and mentoring and the implementation of the 7 types of courses successfully passed more than 650 soldiers, NCOs and officers. Informing the general Gabrys with the perspective of the School, Colonel Akrap noted that members of the MP TAT adapted and translated all the essential doctrinal documents and publications that have been the foundation for the curriculum. Five new specialized courses of military police, whose implementation is planned in June was translated to Dari language.
His remark as an example in everyday work and commitment of MP TAT members gave the Commander of the Training Advisory Group in Training Educational Centre of the Afghan National Army (ANA ANATEC TAG) Latvian Colonel Ivo Mogilnijis.
General Gabrys commended all the members of MP TAT and expressed gratitude for the successful completion of tasks. He said that the ANA Military Police School was an outstanding example of good cooperation between several countries in implementing the project in Afghanistan.
The high guest visited the new location of the Military Police School in Darulaman. There he was welcomed by the Commander of the School Afghan Colonel Semi Ulah Talash.
General Gabrys at the end of the visit thanked Colonel Akrap for his hospitality, and wished him and all members of the MP TAT further successful cooperation in the development of the Military Police School.
