Chief of General Staff at the meeting of the EU Military Committee
Chief of General Staff of Croatian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Drago Lovrić participated on a meeting of the European Union Military Committee in Chiefs of Staff format, which took place 24th April 2012 in Brussels, Belgium.
The main topics of the meeting of the EU Military Committee were: the development of military capabilities, EU led operations and EU role in conflict prevention. In the development of military capabilities, emphasis was placed on Pooling & Sharing, in order to ensure adequate defence capabilities and capacity for future security challenges, taking into account financial circumstances. The current status of the Single European Sky project and its impact on military air traffic was also presented. Chiefs of general staffs were also briefed on the current status of the EU led operation – Operation ALTHEA in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU NAVFOR Atalanta in the wider area of the horn of Africa, as well as on EUTM (EU Training Mission) in Somalia.
